Problems cannot be solved with the same level of awareness that created them.

-Einstein

All teenagers struggle with individuation -- finding out who they want to be and defining themselves as individuals apart from their parents and families. This natural process is an emotional time for both teenagers and parents. Often it is helpful to have an experienced professional for teens to discuss these issues with.

Parents frequently find themselves asking whether the signs of withdrawal and behavior problems in their kids are due to the normal distancing that occurs during teen individuation or the consequence of depression or other problems.

Through this process, Kari focuses on helping teens learn to make good choices and understand the natural consequences of their actions. She also teaches life skills that empower teenagers to deal with their emotions and handle the new situations they face.

Kari will be happy to discuss your personal situation and how she can work with you and your teenager during a free initial telephone consultation.
